What More UK has been listed among the top 100 British manufacturers.
Director Tony Grimshaw OBE is proud to receive the accolade on behalf of his colleagues in all areas of What More’s business, following last night’s announcement by The Manufacturer magazine.
The Manufacturer announced its Top 100, an annual report of inspirational movers and shakers in the UK’s manufacturing sector, on Tuesday evening.
Tony Grimshaw OBE was named within the top 20 individuals on The Manufacturer’s list and as such is classed as ‘an exemplar’ of UK manufacturing excellence.
Published annually, The Manufacturer Top 100 is a platform to champion and publicly identify dynamic leaders and innovators in UK manufacturing. The aim of the report’s publication is to highlight the UK’s best manufacturing role models to educate the public and future talent that a career in manufacturing is exciting and creative.
Tony Grimshaw OBE, Director of What More UK, said:
“It’s incredibly humbling to be included in The Manufacturer Top 100, and I will accept this honour on behalf of everyone at What More, who I genuinely feel are the best team within our industry. Without them, What More simply wouldn’t be the industry leader it is today. This recognition is undoubtedly a tribute to all their hard work too.”
Tony Grimshaw was nominated for a place in The Manufacturer Top 100 by key figures from academia and an industry formed a judging panel.
Among the Top 100 judges was Nigel Fine, Chief Executive of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). He said:
“The UK’s manufacturing industry makes a significant contribution to the UK economy, so it’s vital that government, employers and professional bodies continue to work together to ensure that our manufacturing industry thrives. The Manufacturer Top 100 is a great way to celebrate the diversity, creativity and success of our manufacturers and inspire role models to attract more young people into manufacturing.”
The Manufacturer Top 100 report for 2016 was announced at an exclusive event at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery attended by the UK manufacturing community and industry leaders.
